Forgekin enter the world fully formed, built from metal or wood by skilled creators. Designed with a specific function in mind, they are methodical and disciplined, focused on their chosen duties or their search for individual meaning. Sturdy plating protects their inner workings of gears and arcane pathways, while their faces range from fully expressive to stylized, rigid masks.

Traits

Efficient

You do not need to eat, drink, or breathe. When you use a technique or cast a spell that costs fatigue, you can reduce its fatigue cost by 1 (minimum 1). You can do this a number of times equal to your Prowess, and recover all spent uses as part of your daily preparations. By spending 1 AP, you can give yourself the Hastened condition; you can do this once, and recover this use as part of your daily preparations.

Purposeful Design

Decide who made you and for what purpose. At character creation, gain one additional talent that reflects this purpose; you have expertise with this talent. A set of tools or instruments suited to that purpose is built into your body — you are proficient with them, they cannot be removed without your consent, and you have +2 ongoing to skill checks made with them.

Sentinel

You gain Darkvision. You can slow your body’s functions down to a crawl—as long as you stay perfectly still you can appear dormant while remaining aware of your surroundings. Getting into this state takes 1 minute. You can enter this state in place of sleeping during a long rest.
