Jinnati

Sizesmall, medium

J

Raw elemental forces shape the lives of the Jinnati, who trace their lineage back to the Jinn: Ifrit (Fire), Marid (Water), Ard (Earth), or Riah (Air). Their bloodline visibly manifests in their appearance: a Jinnati of Ifrit heritage has skin that smolders like coals, while one of Marid blood has hair that drifts like water. Ard descendants display glittering, gemstone-like eyes, and Riah bloodlines carry a perpetual breeze about them. This elemental inheritance also shapes their temperaments, which range from fiery passion or fluid adaptability to grounded patience or free-spirited whimsy.

Traits

Elemental Mantle

You gain resistance to your elemental ancestor’s element. As a reaction to a creature hitting you with a melee attack, you can deal 1d6 elemental damage to it. You can do this a number of times equal to your Prowess, and recover all spent uses as part of your daily preparations.

Elemental Touch

You learn a cantrip associated with your elemental ancestor, casting it with +FOCUS, +POWER, or +CUNNING (chosen when you take this trait): fire mote (Ifrit), ice knife (Marid), acid splash (Ard), or windrush (Riah). You can also produce minor, harmless manifestations of your element: Ifrit can light or snuff small flames, Marid can draw a cupful of clean water from the air, Ard can shape loose earth and stone, and Riah can stir a gentle breeze.

Planar Step

By spending 1 AP, you magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see, or teleport a willing creature you touch up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You can also teleport yourself as a reaction to being targeted by an attack. You can use this a number of times equal to your Prowess, and recover all spent uses as part of your daily preparations.
