Kobold

K

Under the shadow of deep dungeons, Kobolds survive by relying on cunning and sheer numbers. Naturally cowardly, they avoid direct confrontations, opting instead for traps or sudden retreats. They cling to powerful leaders for protection, aiding their guardians intensely to ensure their own safety. Scales cover their small frames, adorned with tiny horns and dominated by large, glassy eyes.

As part of their daily preparations, a Kobold can designate a creature as their leader (such as a fellow companion or a trusted creature they have bonded with).

Traits

Cry for Help

When you take damage from a creature, you can cry out as a reaction. One ally of your choice that can see or hear you within 30 feet gains advantage on their next attack roll against that creature. If your leader comes to your aid, they gain the Inspired condition. You can use this a number of times equal to your Prowess, and recover all spent uses as part of your daily preparations.

Dungeon Dweller

You gain Darkvision and +2 ongoing to find paths, exits, or hidden passages in dungeons, caves, ruins, and similar structures.

Follow the Leader

While you are within 30 feet of your leader and can see them, you can gain advantage on an attack roll against any creature your leader has attacked since their previous turn. You can do this a number of times equal to your Prowess, and recover all spent uses as part of your daily preparations. Additionally, when your leader would take damage from an attack and you are within 5 feet of them, you can use your reaction to take the damage instead.
